How we pack and deliver furniture

How we pack and deliver furniture

Before your furniture begins its journey, we protect it with several layers of packaging materials. We then place it on a pallet.

See how we pack your furniture step by step and find out how to prepare for delivery.

Several layers of protection before dispatch

First, we protect the furniture with film and plastic protective materials. Next, we add protective board or cardboard, wrap everything in stretch film and place it on a pallet. Each layer serves a different purpose.

  1. Protecting the surface

Film and plastic protective materials form the first protective layer. They help protect the furniture’s surface from scratches.

  2. Protective board or cardboard

We add protective board or cardboard to provide an additional layer of protection during transport.

  3. Wrapping in stretch film

We wrap everything in stretch film. It holds the packaging layers together and protects them from dirt.

  4. Placing the furniture on a pallet

We place the packed furniture on a pallet, making it easier to move and handle the shipment using transport equipment.

Below, we show the stages of preparing two pieces of furniture for dispatch — from the first protective layers to the finished shipment on a pallet.

How does delivery work?

We send the finished furniture by courier or prepare it for collection in person — according to the option you selected when placing your order. For pallet delivery, arrange space to receive the shipment and plan how to move the furniture to its intended location.

Delivery does not include carrying the furniture inside. None of the carriers we work with offers this service. You will need to arrange for the furniture to be moved into your house, flat or other room yourself. Before delivery, organise suitable help, taking the furniture’s dimensions and weight into account.

Prepare to receive your shipment

  • Check vehicle access to the delivery location. If the road is narrow, vehicle access is restricted or there are other obstacles, let us know before placing your order.
  • Make room for the furniture and its pallet. The shipment takes up more space than the furniture alone. Allow enough room to unpack it safely as well.
  • Arrange help to move the furniture. Delivery does not include carrying the furniture inside, so you will need to arrange this yourself. Check the width of doorways, passages and staircases, and organise suitable help for the furniture’s dimensions and weight.
  • Inspect the packaging on delivery. Look for visible damage. If anything concerns you, take photos before you start unpacking.

How should you unpack the furniture?

Unpack the shipment somewhere you can easily access the packaging. Ask another person for help if needed.

  1. Carefully remove the outer stretch film. Keep the blade away from the furniture’s surface.
  2. Remove the protective board or cardboard. Remove each layer carefully so that it does not catch on the furniture’s surface or components.
  3. Remove the remaining protective materials. Once unpacked, inspect the furniture and check its condition.
  4. Sort the packaging. You can keep the pallet and any materials suitable for reuse. Dispose of the rest according to local waste sorting and collection rules.

What should you do if you notice damage?

If the packaging or furniture is damaged, document the problem and contact us.

  1. Take photos. Include the entire shipment, the condition of the packaging and close-ups of the damage.
  2. Inform the carrier of any visible damage. If possible on delivery, ask them to record the damage or complete a damage report.
  3. Report the problem to us. Provide your order number, describe the damage and send us the photos. If you can, keep the packaging until we agree on the next steps.

Don’t have a damage report? Please contact us anyway. The absence of a damage report does not affect your statutory rights to make a complaint.

Frequently asked questions

Will my furniture be shipped on a pallet?

This page explains how we prepare pallet shipments. If you would like to confirm the shipping method for a specific product, contact us with the furniture’s name or your order number.

Does delivery include carrying the furniture inside?

No. None of the carriers we work with offers this service. You will need to arrange for the furniture to be moved into your house, flat or other room yourself. Take the furniture’s dimensions and weight into account and organise suitable help before delivery.

Will the carrier take away the pallet and packaging?

Do not assume that packaging removal is included in the delivery — this depends on the scope of the service. Plan space for the pallet and protective materials after unpacking the furniture.

I only noticed damage after unpacking. What should I do?

Take photos of the damage and packaging, then contact us. Provide your order number and describe the problem. The absence of a damage report completed on delivery does not affect your statutory rights to make a complaint.

Can I collect the furniture in person?

Yes — select collection in person when placing your order. Before coming, arrange a collection time with us and make sure you have a suitable vehicle to transport the furniture.
